How to Measure Your Ring Size
Method 1: Printable Ring Sizer
Download and print our ring sizer for the most accurate measurement at home.
- Download the printable ring sizer PDF and print it at 100% scale. Do not scale to fit.
- Cut out the ring sizer along the dotted line.
- Wrap the sizer snugly around your finger. Slide the pointed end through the slit.
- Read the size at the arrow. For the most accurate result, measure your finger at the end of the day when fingers are at their largest.
Method 2: String or Paper Method
All you need is a piece of string, floss, or a thin strip of paper and a ruler.
- Wrap a piece of string or a thin strip of paper around the base of your finger.
- Mark the point where the end meets the string with a pen.
- Lay the string flat and measure the length in millimeters with a ruler.
- Use the circumference column in the size chart below to find your corresponding US ring size.
Method 3: Measure an Existing Ring
If you already have a ring that fits perfectly, you can measure its inner diameter.
- Select a ring that fits the intended finger comfortably.
- Measure the inner diameter of the ring in millimeters using a ruler or caliper.
- Match the measurement to the diameter (mm) column in the size chart below.

Pro Tips for Accurate Sizing
- Measure at the end of the day. Fingers naturally swell throughout the day and are largest in the evening.
- Consider knuckle size. If your knuckle is significantly larger than the base of your finger, choose a size between the two measurements.
- Account for band width. Wider bands (6mm+) fit more snugly. Consider going up a half size for bands wider than 5mm.
- Temperature matters. Cold weather can make fingers shrink up to half a size. Measure in a warm, room-temperature environment.
- Dominant hand difference. Your dominant hand is typically slightly larger. Be sure to measure the specific finger and hand where you will wear the ring.
